I have a pretty bad oil leak that I think is coming from my camshaft seals. I figure my timing belt should be changed anyway so can do both at the same time. While I have the car in bits is there anything else in that area that would be a sensible maintenance procedure?

Hi there,

Just the front crankshaft seal, and have a good feel of all the idler pulley bearings.

Thanks for the reply. I'll be certain to give them a good look/feel. I don't have any noises yet so hopefully they're OK.

How about the oil pump? I've found one for $100 but that's still a fair amount if it's not really necessary.

Hi there,

You can have the oil pressure tested if you like, but if you have not had an issue there, don't bother.
