i need to change the engine.my engine type is : ej22eaaagl.
what i want to know is will any ej22 engine fit and work perfectly in my car,even if the letters after ej22
are different and its from a 1990/91 subaru legacy?

The letter after are most likely the serial # for the engine. As long as the designation code for th eengine is th esam it will work. Be sure that if you have a non-turbo that it is a non-turbo going back in.Other than that you should be fine.
