1993 Subaru Legacy Can or is there a way to switch my AWD t

I am wondering if there is a way to unhook my AWD 1993 Subartu Legascy wagon to 2WD. Without hurting the transmission or drive train. The reason being at this time is for possiiblity of better fuel economy and maybe some increased power.

I know there is something a lever under the hood used for towing. But I am looking for a more permanent solution and this could possibly benefit a lot of people at a time like this when gas prices or going through the roof!

Hi jdram587,

For AWD there is no way you can change to 2WD unless the trans is modified or replaced with a 2WD.
