My engine light on my 1992 subaru legacy L is still on !
I have just replaced the front crank shaft seal, as there was a pretty significant oil leak. I have also replaced the timing belts, water pump, and have also just changed the oil and oil filter. My car has 181,000 miles on it, however since I have performed the above repairs the car has been running great. I have also cleaned the entire engine so that there is no more oil that is being burned off. I have also replaced the gas cap on the car as well, however the engine light continues to stay on. Is there a way to reset the computer so the engine light will go off? My car is now in top shape, but how do I get the engine light to shut off?

well how long has the engine light been on? usually an egine light means something to do with emissions.was it on before you did those repairs, because they will have nothing to do with your engine light , except in some cases the new gas cap for an evap leak code.
