1990 Subaru Legacy 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a problem with the idle which is very low and someone moved the throtle cables trying to adjust the idle can someone tell me where the throtle cables should be and how do i solve the low idle

It sounds like you have a bad idle air control valve (IAC). The IAC increases engine speed when engine temperature by venting air into the air duct behind the throttle plate. There is also a throttle position sensor (TPS) that can cause problems or even vacuum leaks. Here is a picture of both the IAC and TPS on your vehicle. Check them, but first look for vacuum leaks.

I got this picture from the net. If you look, number 1 is the IAC and 2 is the TPS. Let me know what you find. Joe
