2000 Subaru Impreza Rattling/thumping sound from front ent

I have a 2000 Impreza and i have just started hearing a rattling/thumping sound from the underside of the front end. as i speed up the sound goes faster and when i apply the brake it stops. it sounds like something banging against the bottom of the car. please offer any insight that you can.

First, check the tires for a shifted belt or uneven wear. Next, check the wheel bearings to make sure they are not worn.
