1999 Subaru Impreza All Wheel Drive Manual

I have a subaru impreza WRX STI, when i have the air con on it all works fine although its not freezing cold but when i turn the air con off and put the heating to hot the air still comes out cold. The engine temp gauge reads fine. What could this be?
Also the car sometime stutters when cold but only in second gear and when warm and the car is slowing on it owns seconds gear disingages. The gear lever is very wobly when in gear (as if its in neutral). Could you please help with these little problems? thank you

Hi there,

I would be checking that the heater tap is turning on, verify this by feeling the heater hoses with the engine hot, with the heater tap on both hoses should be hot to touch, if not the heater tap is faulty or the core is blocked. As for the transmission fault, Get the selector mechanism inspected for a failed or worn bush, start there.
