1998 Subaru Impreza 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Manual

I was driving my car one day and went to shift and it make a clunk noise and now wont shift to any gears.the shifter moves but it acts like it is constantly in neutral.what could this be?

If its going in gear and you step on the gas and its not moving the clutch is slipping
