antifreeze keeps going into overflow tank. engine dosen't get hot. someone told me it was the head gasket doing it. Is this true?

you need to do a coolant combustion leak test. Its a dye that tells you if there is combustion gasses leaking into you cooling system. Head gaskets are very common on subarus so i am not suprised. A leaking head gasket will put excessive pressure into the cooling system and push the cooling up and out or in the overflow.
