Ive just done a complete head rebuild on my Impreza.

When we started it up the first time it had a very loud tapping noise. I was told it is a hydraulic lifter not lubricated with oil properly, and it should just go away.

300 miles later, i was told to use engine flush before changing the oil, i tried it and it has seemed to quiten the noise down.

The car still performs the same but the noise is quite annoying, and doesn't sound healthy.

Just wondered if anyone could help?

Thanks

You may have one or more of the lifters that have collapsed internally. I'm afraid that you're gonna have to tear it down to that point again.
