Engine Cooling problem
2008 Subaru Forester 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic

I need to add coolant (the coolant level now is near the "low" mark). The Owner's Manual says I need to add Subaru coolant. Is this correct? Couldn't I just buy coolant off the shelf at a auto parts place? I don't want to have to bring the car in to the dealer just for coolant.

Thanks.

no that is just the manufacturers way of trying to make money for their dealers, top off with some regular 50-50 diluted coolant, any brand
