2001 Subaru Forester Air/fuel mixture

I have a 2001 Subaru Forester with 148,000 miles on it. I just recently started getting lower gas mileage. The exhaust smells like the fuel mixture may be too rich. I was wondering how I would go about adjusting the air/fuel ratio.

Get the coolant temperature and oxygen sensors checked out to include the fuel pressure
