2000 Subaru Forester 4 cyl Manual 200 00 miles

Dear Sir/Madam

My car air conditioner while I am driving is cooling at the beginning of the drive but after while cool air is stop blowing and then after while is blowing cool air again and that goes on.Ive been told that that is problem with the thermostat and need to be replaced. So I was wondering since the timing belt need to be changed to would it be easier when they replace the thermostat and timing belt to be replaced so I can save something on the labour

The thermostat has nothing to do with the performance of the AC. As you described it, it sounds low on freon. Have it checked for that. As far as the timing belt, if you plan top replace it, don't base it on the t-stat. Also,when a t-stat goes bad, the car will overheat. A bad t-stat will have an adverse effect on the heater but not the AC.
