2000 Subaru Forester Acceleration Problems

I have had a problem with acceleration for some time and there doesn't seem to be any event that triggers this. Basically, the car seems to get stuck at a certain speed and will not go faster no matter how much gas you give it. After an unpredictable amount of time, the car will go back to normal but this is happening more often. I have taken the car to the dealership on a number of occasions to try and diagnose and remedy the problem but they cannot replicate it and cannot find what is wrong.

Could be one of the following below that's causing it

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires
