Engine Mechanical problem
1999 Subaru Forester 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 90000K miles

MY SONS CAR BROKE DOWN LAST NIGHT HE STOPPED AT THE LIGHTS THE ENGINE STOPPED ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON ON THE DASHBOARD .it would not restart. battery is ok is it starter motor, fuel pump etc. thankyou peter

Hi there,

Is it cranking over? dose it sound normal when cranking? run a scan and check for fault codes and report back your findings.

it is trying to crank over, but wont. when i pump the accelerator there is a clicking noise . but it wnt start, is it the fuel pump. thankyou peter

Hi there,

this clicking can be the starter solenoid, i would be thinking that the starter is faulty, i would start here.
