Now I don't know what the fix will be with out knowing what happened, but I can help with giving you info on what can cause this so you can have them look it over. Now I would first check the linkage from the shifter to the transmission. Check all the bushings and mounts making sure nothing is loose or worn. If the shifter or bushings are worn then it won't put it all the way in gear in the first place. Now I would also check the engine and transmission mounts too. If any are worn or broke, when you step on the gas it will allow the engine to move and pull it out of gear. Also check the front axles. Now when you replaced the engine you said it was a used engine? What did it come out of? Did they use the flywheel from your old engine or the replacement engine? Get back to me so we can try to figure this out.
