Code P0032, stutters, hesitates, and idles rough intermittently

Will drive okay for awhile then will begin to hesitate, shakes, and won't accelerate past 25ish MPH. I have tested the TPS, changed the TPS, 02 sensors, fuel injectors, CPS, and catalytic converters... Has a small exhaust leak where the headers connect to downpipe... No engine light. Only code is a P0032. I have checked everything timing was done less than 2,000 miles ago by a award winning Hyundai service tech. I'm thinking it might be the carbon canister or the purge valve... but I would like some tips on things to check before I spend $400.00 in those parts.

The P0032 code is for the oxygen sensor (bank 1 sensor 1) so that needs to be fixed but is not causing the running issue. The exhaust leak will cause issues by letting raw air into the system which which cause the computer to make un-necessary adjustments so that should be fixed as well. I just replaced the 02 sensor.. I think pending code is from the exhaust leak. I will try to get a video as I can.

I've figured out that disconnecting the battery for 15 seconds to reset the brains and allows the car to operate normally for awhile. I tested the TPS while it was running normally and it was fine... then today I tested the TPS while the car was acting up and the signal voltage was all over the place rapidly jumping around and occasionally dropping to zero. So i'm going to replace that and see what happens. The exhaust leak is on my weekend to do list as well. I have not been able to get a video of it. Since it has warmed up outside the car seems to do it less often. So I'm thinking maybe it's a cross between the exhaust leak freaking the 02 sensor out and the TPS going bad. Thoughts?

Hi Tatersaladlunny,

This sounds like you have multiple issues exhaust leak and a code for o2 sensor DTC P0032 HO2S HEATER CIRCUIT HIGH (BANK 1 / SENSOR 1). recommend to inspect wiring harness on both sides (possible wiring issue).
repair exhaust leak first (no leaks all the way to the catalyst) use a tester to read codes take a photo of one or more then clear codes and test drive vehicle, read again codes (you said that you replaced the 02 sensor) the code indicates heater control should have battery volt. Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
