I have replaced fuel filter, coils, spark plugs, fuel injectors (Amazon specials), fuel injector connectors. it has no power no get up n go really. I also noticed a leak but considering I'm no mechanic I don't know what the leak is. I'm at a loss and need to fix my old boy so I can get back to work.

Hi,

Based on your description and what you have already done, the first thing I suspect is you have a partially plugged catalytic converter. By chance, is there any smoke or strange odors, or odd sounds coming from the exhaust?

Take a look through this link and let me know if anything mirrors what you experience:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/bad-catalytic-converter-symptoms

Also, is the check engine light staying on while the engine is running? Also, have you tried having the computer scanned for diagnostic trouble codes? Most auto parts stores will do it for you free of charge.

Let me know as much as you can. Anything you can think of that may help me diagnose the issue will be helpful.

Take care,

Joe

Yes, the check engine light is on. One time the code read misfire in cylinder one. I changed the spark plug then the code read cylinder six misfire. Changed the fuel filter. Has a leak on I believe the transmission line. Could a transmission leak make the car act up like it is? The transmission is delay shifting and speeding up very slowly but sounding high, it doesn't shake when accelerating but it shakes bad when holding acceleration in place or just sitting idling in gear.

This is where the leak is. Is there a missing seal or something or what would make this leak happen here?

Hi,

Is pic 1 going from in front of the engine to the transmission? Also, is the leak right where it starts being covered?

In pic 2, I can't tell what is leaking.

Let me know.

Pic one is on passenger side and goes from transmission to radiator.

Hi,

That's a transmission cooler line. There should be 2 of them. One is the supply, and the other is the return.

There are several different ways that can be attached. Some simply screw in, and others are a special connector. I believe this vehicle will have the screw-in type.

Since it's leaking, it could be loose or even have a small pinhole in the steel line. I attached a pic below showing what I believe you will find if you continue following the hose to the cooler. Also, I believe the cooler is not part of the radiator but a separate cooler in front of the radiator.

Let me know if that is what you have.

Take care,

Joe

Thank you. Considering I'm no mechanic is it an easy fix? Would that cause that many problems?

Hi,

The worst part of this is if it needs to be replaced. What makes it difficult is routing the new one into place. Other than that, it is a straightforward job.

I'm here to help if you need anything.

Take care,
