stuck woodruff key on crankshaft

Could you give me some advice on what is the best way to remove a stuck Woodruff key on the crankshaft? My vice grips lock down tightly but eventually slip off every time.

if there is no silicone holding it or some other sealer tap on one end and that should loosen it if it is a half round key, if square on bottom then take a small chisel and tap end so it should move out of hole.
