Stuck in sport/manual mode

So if the shifter is stuck in manual, the only thing I can think that would prevent it from moving back over into D is the shift gate inside the shifter has broken or is stuck not allowing you to push it back over.

I am attaching the process on how to replace the shifter. I am not sure it needs to be replaced but I would at least take it apart and find out if you can see anything that may be blocking it. If not, you are going to have to replace it.
