Came home yesterday from an uneventful day out. Put the car in park and shut it off. Approximately 15 minutes later went to take my friend home. Car started just fine. When I went to put it in reverse to back out of my driveway the shifter (column shifter) moved, but the shift indicator stayed in park and the car wouldn't move. So now it's currently stuck in park. Any suggestions/thoughts/insight?

Hi,

If the lever moved but the transmission didn't respond, chances are the shift cable/linkage has either come disconnected or has broken.

If you look below, I attached the directions for adjustment. Take a look at them and then check the cable itself to see if it is an adjustment issue or something came disconnected or broke.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe
