I am trying to replace my cv joint on the drivers side of my hyundai sonata. But, to do so I need to disconnect the rotor and caliper part from the lower ball joint, but a lower ball joint bolt is stuck and I cant even get it out with an air powered impact wrench and it's very difficult to use a breaker bar on it to it off due to the socket sliding of the bolt and slightly stripping the bolt. And the rubber boot of my lower ball joint is too close to the bolt for me to heat up the surrounding area for it to expand. Any tips on what to do to get it knocked out? I've been drenching it in kroil praying that, that will work. But, I see no progress so far. Any help would be a life saver!

If you can't get that bolt loose from the ball joint area can you remove the lower control arm on the driver side? If possible this should allow enough slack to pull the CV axle out of the wheel bearing area. Or can you unbolt the knuckle from the strut assembly or in other word is there two bolts securing the brake rotor & wheel bearing to the strut/shock absorber.
Try that this and get back to me.
Thanks for the question.
