Would the struts i no their old and probably need replaced. Would that make the steering wheel shake and shimmy or vibrate? Has new tires balanced on the front, but the steering wheel vibrates and shakes, just a little but still fill something in the steering wheel that was not there before. any ideas what it could be? The tires are new and balanced.

Hello,

New tires can still be bad, and newly balanced tires can still be balanced incorrectly. Did you check the rear tires? If the front is good and the rear is still bad, the vibration caused by the rear will be less apparent but still there. Likewise, the quality of tire and type of balancing are also factors that can affect your vibration issue. If you have bent wheels or heavily worn wheel bearings, they will also cause vibrations, though these are things that shops should be able to see and warn you about. Worn shocks/struts will make the vehicle really bouncy, but not cause such a vibration as you described. Conversely, if anything is broken or bent, including rubber components, it will indeed cause some vibration issues.
