I hit the curb on the side of the road resulting in a front left tire bust my steering has a strange noise when i turn. what could have happened? could it have damaged the steering rack? as for now i don't have money to replace the rack. Could there any adjustments which could be done by a mechanic shop to make me continue driving?

Hi Morris,

Unfortunately, if you hit the curb this hard and there is now a noise only when you turn, something is probably bent. This could be a tie rod or the rack itself.

If something is bent then there is no adjustment that can be made. They will need to replace the component and then perform an alignment.

Maybe if you get some photos of the suspension and steering components under the vehicle I may be able to spot something bent.
