When accelerating in 3rd and 4th gear there is a humming/rattling noise. Only when accelerating in these gears haven't tried 5th though. But 1st and 2nd are normal.

Hi,

This vehicle isn't offered in the US, so I have no specifics on it. However, I will try to help. Can you tell me if it seem to be related to engine RPM's? Does the sound change when you leave off the throttle and then press it again? Does anything change it such as touching the brakes? Is it possible for you to record it and upload it for me to hear?

Let me know.
Joe

The sound stops when let go of throttle and if it's at a constant speed it seems to be when I just press down on gas pedal.

Not hearing the sound makes it tough. However, based on your description, it sounds like a bearing issue. When you load a bearing, they will make a humming noise.

Can you tell if the noise seems to be coming from the transmission area? Have you checked the transmission fluid to make sure it is full and clean?
