Hello,
The head unit in my Jetta has suddenly stopped connecting to my iPhone, it just gives a constant connection fails error. In addition whenever I start my car the radio is basically reset, it doesn't remember any saved stations and it starts at the car play screen regardless of where it was when I turned the car off. I have to assume the two issues are related and my theory is that it is probably a fuse, but i'm not sure which fuse it might be. The manual doesn't have a fuse guide. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Hello,

It sounds like one of the fuses blew (13, 31 or 51). However, to be sure here is a guide to help us test the fuses and the fuse location with the radio wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

The guide you provided didn’t match my car exactly. The layout is the same but my car doesn’t have all the fuses listed. I’m not sure if it matters but I have a Jetta SE. In the engine box 13, 31, were missing. In the cabin 13 was missing but 31 and 51 was present and unblown.

It sounds like the head unit is going out or needs an update. We can find out for sure if we do a CAN system scan. here is a video to help see what needs to be done:

Please run down this guide and report back.
