Stiff Steering?

When trying to turn the steering wheel at any speed or stopped, the wheel has stiff resistance to it and takes two hands to turn. But at some points while turning it will get easier to turn and then hard again.

Usually when this happens it is the electronic power rack, but it could be the steering angle sensor as well. We should run a CAN scan on it to see what's going on. You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon.

Would a normal obd 2 scanner work? Also there is check engine light or warning.

It looks like no codes pertain to the steering system, so it looks like the electronic power rack needs to be replaced. To be sure you can take it to the dealer and have it diagnosed.
