I have no sound when the radio is AM or FM but the CD player works and if you switch to the AM FM side will only turn down with no sound.

Hello,
It sounds like the tuner has gone out in the radio. The best way to fix this is to replace the radio with an aftermarket unit or get a used one from a wrecking yard.
