Can i switch my old stereo to a touchscreen stereo?

Hi,

The original radio in the vehicle communicates to other modules via a serial data line. Also, the system has a theft-deterrent function that uses the VIN number to communicate with the powertrain control module. If the VIN isn't recognized by the PCM, the radio will not work properly.

If you want to replace it, I would recommend having it done by a professional. There are variables that may cause new issues for you. See pics below
