I am replacing the ignition switch and want to know what the rod is above the ignition switch rod and the dimmer switch rod (tilt steering wheel)) and what its function is? It came detached and I do not know where, or how it re-attaches. It is on the very top qand the rod is over top of the ignition switch. What is it called?

Good evening.

There are two rods. One for the rack from the ignition lock cylinder and one from the dimmer switch on the stalk. I do not see nor have I ever seen a third rod in my years of doing those columns.

Can you post a picture of what you see?
