My wife said the airbag light came on. I scanned it and it had a code for high resistance airbag, usually it's the clock spring. The wipers and turn signals worked fine. Radio buttons on steering do not work. High bean works. Horn works. I replaced the spring and did a calibration, and the airbag light went out. The steering radio buttons and menu buttons still do not work. The only codes I have are these. Do you know where the fuse is? Some people talked about a j527 fuse which I do not know where it is

There is no fuse for the steering wheel controls that I can find, to me the spiral spring might be the wrong one or the button cluster on the steering wheel has gone out. Did you match the part numbers to make sure you had the correct part? Also, there is a connector on the spiral spring you need to make sure it gets connected correctly. Please check out the images below to see what I am talking about. Check out the images (below). Let us know how it goes.

I bought it from the dealer and VIN matched. There are only 2 wires, the yellow big one and the small black one. Which one controls the buttons?

It looks like inside the connector there are 12 wires correct? Are some of the terminal cavities empty?

Not sure, but the connector is exactly the same, yellow big one and a small black connector of 2-4 wires.

Check out the first image in the post above, it looks like 12 terminals. If this is not connected the buttons will not work.

Yes, I am sure it is otherwise I would have the airbag light on and wipers and turn signals and horn wouldn't work I would assume.

Is the spiral spring a factory part? It might be defective.

The springs you mean are the 2 behind the airbag, correct? These were not replaced. The horn works and the pushing back and forth to the airbag feels fine. What do the springs have to do with it? I only replaced the clock spring assembly.

If the only thing you did was replace the clock spring and the buttons stopped working I would think you have a defective part.

Buttons were not working before clock spring replacement. The airbag light was on, the horn was not working. After replacement horn works and airbag light is off. I calibrated the clock soring via my Autel. Button issue must be separate. Part is new from dealership.

Yep, if they never worked the button cluster is bad.
