So, when I went to turn my steering wheel all of my engine pulleys slowed down and stopped. My steering only turns about a quarter of a turn. I'll add a video so you can see what I mean.

Hi,

Is the belt new? Are you sure it is the correct one? I ask because although it does stop turning, there are no noises from it. That leads me to think it is too loose.

For curiosity, does the same thing happen if you turn the AC on?

Let me know.

Joe

Yes, the belt is brand new and so is the alternator. And no, it doesn't do the same thing when I turn on my A/C only when I turn my steering wheel.

Hi,

I'm looking at your video and noticed the PS pump pulley is ribbed. Normally the opposite side of the belt (the ribbed side) rides on that kind of pulley. See pic below A smooth pulley tensioners the smooth side of the belt.

However, when I look at the diagrams, it appears to be correct, but what I mentioned doesn't. If you lift the front wheels from the ground, does the same thing happen?

Is this an SS? Which engine does it have?

Let me know.

Joe
