Starter problem

First, this vehicle isn't offered in the US, so my technical information is very limited.

Now, if the starter works out of the vehicle but not in the vehicle, have you confirmed a good ground from the battery to the engine block? Is there any noise from the starter when you try starting the vehicle? Also, have you checked to see if there is power to the S connector on the starter when the key is in the start position? Have you checked fuses and a starter relay?

Something is preventing power flow at the starter when it is in the vehicle. We need to determine if the S connector is getting power. Follow the directions in this link and let me know the results.

Hi there, thank you for your response.
When you put the key in the ignition and turn it nothing happened but the radio comes on, but the Bakkie does not want start at all. nothing it totally dead.even if you can turn the key but nothing happened is not even the speedometer and the wipers do not work.

Have you checked main fuses under the hood? Also, have you checked to see if there is power to the starter as described in the aforementioned link?

Hi there, they took out the starter and there is power on the starter but as soon as they put it back in the bakkie nothing happened.

On a typical starter, there are two primary connections. One is direct from the battery +. It will have power all the time. The other is on what we refer to as the starter's S terminal. It is a much smaller wire which only receives power when the key is in the start position. If you have power to both and it still doesn't work, check the main grounds to the engine block. If the ground is good, it has to be a starter issue.
