Start the car and about 2 seconds it shuts off. Changed intake and exhaust camshaft sensors. But will start when I unplug sensor. I plug it back in while running doesn't shut off.

Hi,

I have a feeling that one of the variable valve timing (VVT) solenoids is dirty with sludge. That can cause what you described. I realize you replaced the cam sensors, but we need to scan the can to see what code shows up. Otherwise, it becomes a guessing game.

If you have a scan tool, great. Scan the computer and see if there are codes present. If you find a P0010 or P0013, I suspect my suspicions are correct.

Here is a video showing how to scan the can-bus system. CAN stands for controller area network. By performing this type of scan, all modules/computers are checked. If you don't have access to a scan tool that can do this, try using a standard scanner. Most parts stores will do it free of charge or lend you the tool.

Do this and let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care and God Bless,

Joe
