Yes, this can be either battery, I would run the codes to see if any are stored which can help us see what is wrong, also, it is easy to remove the 12 volts battery and have it tested at the auto parts store so I would do that as well. These guides can help you get the codes, and I have included how to remove the battery as well in the images below.
