i had an RX7 i know that is different. if i turned off the car while it was high idle ie warming up there was a chance it would flood the engine. lots of fixes what i would do and i bought a lot of flooded RX7 for pennies on the dollar. pull the fuel pump fuse, take out the plugs dry them tun the car over giving the starter a chance to rest so i did not burn it up. but enough to blow out the gas. replace plugs and fuse fire right up. that is not the established method but quick.

Hello,

Flooding of the engine is a sign of low compression which that engine is famous for. Please remove the lower spark plugs and do a compression test.

Here is a guide to help you:

Please let us know what you find.
