We put a new alternator and battery, but we can figure out what is wrong with it. my uncle is a mechanic and he told me it’s probably a burnt fuse. But I really want to know what’s wrong because I need my truck for work and I don’t know what I need to do. any answers?

Hi,

Do you mean the starter won't engage or it cranks and doesn't run?

If the starter works, take a look through this link. It describes the most common causes of a crank no start condition.

If the starter doesn't engage, I need to confirm the engine size. A 7.4L wasn't offered in 1994. I need to look up wiring schematics, so I need the correct engine size.

If you want, here is a link that explains how to test a starter circuit in general. It may help.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care and God Bless,

Joe
