Intermittent hard starting issue

(1) key in ignition , turn to start position, it just clicks.
Repeat step (1) 2 or 3 times. Still doesn't turn starter.
Try 1 more time, clicks, starter engages, engine starts and runs.
Drive. Stop, turn off ignition. Engine starts normally .

Good afternoon,

This sounds like a dead spot in the starter motor itself.

I would start by cleaning the battery cables to be sure it is not a bad connection. Otherwise, replace the starter motor.
