Starter wires

Car has two wires and a plug in harness. Can you get them installed wrong when changing the starter out?

Good afternoon.

The heavy thick cable goes to the big post on the solenoid.

The little wire goes on the little stud on the solenoid.

Thank you. Someone is telling me I crossed them up and with the end connections the sizes they are you cannot cross them. Am I correct?
