Over time my engine was slower and slower to turn over and start. The battery was fine but was using a lot of power to continue attempting to start the engine. Both alternator and battery checked, good. I bought a certified replacement starter on eBay. I replaced it after disconnecting the battery. I bought a new battery. But the engine will not make a sound when I turn the key. Can someone please help me?

Hello,

It sounds like you got a defective starter but to be sure use a test light to test for power at the small trigger wire at the starter. Here are a couple of guides to help you get the job done:

and

Near the bottom of the guide.

You may need to jack the car up as well.

Did you get a Denso starter? That is the only brand we install.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
