Starter just clicks and the dash lights go off for a few seconds then back on put new starter/battery/fuse in the hot post wire/fuse and the park neutral switch. Tried crossing the starter out still just click when it stopped starting. I tried to start it and it was like the battery was dying meaning it turned over and all then just clicked. Any help? Thanks

Check the cable connections on both the positive and negative cables. Also, make sure the body ground is okay. To quickly test the grounds you can use a set of jumper cables to connect the battery negative post to the engine block and the body to the engine block. See if anything changes.

Hi Steve, just letting you know I had a gut feeling that the starter was bad even after Autozone checked it and said it passed. So I bought another starter put it on and Voom Voom it stared right up. Thanks Steve, I will be back I am sure. I know cars but sometimes we all need help Thanks again, Larry

That has been happening a lot lately. Between the sales droids that cannot look up or test parts and the crap they are selling as parts I think they are trying to force everyone to buy new cars. At least you got it repaired. Now if you had mentioned who tested the starter.

I hear you. I have used Autozone for years to test battery's/alternators/starters never have I ever had this problem until now. Needles to say I will do most if not all of my testing from now on. Thanks a lot Steve.
