My starter is gone. I know this but I need to start my car to drive it home as it's stuck in a Walmart parking lot. The starter smokes from the bottom when trying to start it. White smoke. Is there a way to bypass it so I can drive home? It won't crank. Only clicks.

Hi,

There is no way to bypass the starter. It is needed to turn the engine for it to start. If it is smoking, I wouldn't keep trying.

When you can replace it, here is a link that shows in general how one is replaced:

I wish I had an easier answer for you, but the starter is needed to start the engine. It can't be bypassed.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care and God Bless.
