Just bought a new starter and when we put it in, it immediately just clicked. Then after a few cranks, it started up. Now, when I try to start it, it acts like my battery is dead and wont turn over quickly enough to start. But when I have it jumped, it starts like its new and like its supposed to start.

I have taken the batt in and it's perfect. Could the starter go bad that fast? And could it be the wiring that would cause this?

Yes starters can be faulty out the box. Need to do voltage drop test to determine if cables good but doubt that. Go back to where you bought starter and have them do a draw test

Well both the battery and starter are working the way they should. It's still clicking but the battery hasn't died in a very long time. It clicks a few times and then it kicks in. What could be making it do that?
