Here is what the manual says
Disconnect battery ground cable.
Remove starter to flywheel housing and rear bracket to engine or transaxle attaching bolts.
On models equipped with 2.2L/4-135 engine, loosen air pump tube at exhaust manifold, then position tube bracket away from starter motor.
On all models, remove heat shield clamp and heat shield, if equipped.
Disconnect starter cable at starter motor and solenoid leads at solenoid, then remove starter motor.
Reverse procedure to install.
