I need to know the exact location of the starter. This looks nothing like my Chevrolet K10! Trying to help my sister replace the starter on her shadow.

Hello,

Here is what the manual says

Disconnect battery ground cable.
Remove starter to flywheel housing and rear bracket to engine or transaxle attaching bolts.
On models equipped with 2.2L/4-135 engine, loosen air pump tube at exhaust manifold, then position tube bracket away from starter motor.
On all models, remove heat shield clamp and heat shield, if equipped.
Disconnect starter cable at starter motor and solenoid leads at solenoid, then remove starter motor.
Reverse procedure to install.

Here are some guide that will help you get the job done.
