After having some engine work done the mechanic is unable to get the jeep to start we are getting a diagnostic code P1389. Can someone please help me know what the code means and how to fix it?

I just did a little investigating.

The code means the is no ASD Relay Output Voltage At PCM

The two possibilities mention was the ASD relay might be bad (swap that relay with its duplicate that performs a lesser function, wipers or such) This might verify the relay is bad without spending any money as a "test"

The other possibility mentioned was that a bad crank sensor might also throw the code.

I hope this helps,

If not, return and someone else might have some thoughts.

Do let us know how things are progressing!
