I have inherited this truck and it has sat for couple a years. I got it to my house installed new fuel pump, fuel filter and new EFI relay. It will start but will not stay running. I have checks mass air flow sensor and even jumped b+ to fuel pump in distributor box under hood, but still no luck. Changed ECM with one out of another running truck but still same thing. It has twelve volts to injectors but will not run. Does the igniter over on driver fender have anything to do with injectors?

Will it stay running if you hold the revs above a fast idle? Can you check for any codes? Not all codes will set a check light.

I would flush the fuel system out it sounds like you have old gas in there. Have you put a fresh tank in it?

Let me know,

Cheers, Ken

It sounds like you have a vacuum leak or a plugged exhaust system, here are some guides to help us do some checking.

Electrical problem
1994 Toyota Pickup 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 260000 miles

the motor turns over but it wont stay on. The times it does stay on, when I turn any electrical component on (lights or heater) the engime begins to miss fire to the point it turns off. I brushed up and cleaned by ground connection as I was told it could be the problem. I have changed the spark plug wires, cap and rotor. My terminals are new.

Load test the alternator if okay, clean out the idle air control valve and EGR valve and test the throttle position sensor and airflow meter to include a fuel pressure check.

My truck will start, but then won't stay running. The fuel pump has been ruled out, possibly the computer? Any other ideas? Thank you

I would check out the coil. I have had this problem with mine in the past and it turned out to be the coil.

My toyota truck stalls when the brake is applied. It stalls or bucks sometimes when the turn signal or lights are turned on. I noticed I had a loose connection at the battery terminal on the negative. Playing with the battery terminal can get the engine to start again but the problem persists. The engine runs fine until I do one of the above things. Dosen't seem to me that a bad connection at the terminal could cause this, but I am not an experienced mechanic.

My '94 Toyota pickup just stopped running while I was driving down the road. It did hesitate, cough or sputter -- it just quit. Now it cranks over but will not start.

Do below to determine if its fuel or spark problem

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine at least 3/16 away from ground -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, Do you hear the fuel pump come On when you turn key on? If not check fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay if so, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it

When my 4cyl Toyota Pick up is brought to a stop I must keep my foot on the accelerator or it will stall. It starts right up & may or may not need me to give it more fuel until I move. What components do you recommend checking first?
