RPMs drop to below 500 then stalls. No codes or check engine light comes on. Have to shift the transmission into park and restart. The engine stalls at idle?

Yes, this is common when the throttle bore gets dirty, you are in the mileage range for this issue. What happens is the air going into your engine is not perfectly clean so after a while the air impurities build up causing idle performance issues, fortunately this is an easy fix. Please follow this guide and video (read all before you begin) which should fix the issue. I will leave instructions for your car in the diagrams below.

Please run down this guide and report back. Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

This issue is called idle under shooting. Basically, the engine runs to a low RPMs that it can't keep it running and it just stalls out.

There are many reasons for it but we should start with the basics before we get into the complicated items.

First, we need to check the fuel pressure when this happens.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator

You should have around 60 PSI of pressure all the time.

The next thing is to pull the spark plugs and see what they look like. If they were recently replaced, then what brand of spark plug did you use as we have seen weak spark from some plugs that will cause this.

Get a picture of the plugs and that will help.

Let's start with this and go from there.

Thanks
