Stalls out then it restart, but then stalls again shortly after. Throws a code P1685. If you disconnect the negative terminal it will reset code and car will be okay for a week or so. Then it will start stalling again. Tried using both key fobs, that’s not the problem. Is the problem the immobilizer?

Good morning,

Can you verify the code? I see nothing for a P1685 for a 2000 ram with a 5.7.

No to the immobilizer. If it was bad, it would not allow it to start. Once it starts, it will or should stay running.

Sorry, senior moment.

Looked at 2008 for the same and nothing for P1685.

Can you verify the number? I tried it In P, C, B and U and nothing shows for 1685.

Roy, I thought that’s was the code number, I had a senior moment also. It said” SKIM Key Invalid”. Or should I wait until it codes again when it stalls out, and then get back to you?

Thanks, Larry
