Stalling when accelerating, now will not start

Landcruiser 4WD L6-3955cc 4.0L OHV (3F) (1989)

Historically the engine would stall when accelerating above 40 km per hour.

The vehicle was fitted with a Weber carburetor by the previous owner and I fitted an electrical fuel pump to see if the problem could be overcome.

It was stationary for a while, and now it will not start at all. I checked the fuel line and all is definitely well. I cannot find spark.

There could be a restriction in the fuel tank or lines,also with this amount of miles I would inspect the ignition system i.e. the cap,rotor,coil wire and plug wires for obvious signs of corrosion. Another possibility is an exhaust restriction.If possible,run the vehicle with the exhaust disconnected and clear from any fuel lines or wiring.
