Hello, i recently replaced the idle air control valve and changed a hose but when i tried to start back up it stalled out immediately and or idles very low at 500. i am wondering what my next course of action would be. i replaced it with the Duralast IAC and at the time of this i took the negative battery terminal overnight to reset the ECM.

Hi,

Was the original IAC doing the same thing? Are you sure there are no engine vacuum leaks around where you were working?

Check to see if there are leaks. I have a feeling that is part of the issue.

Here is a link that explains how to check:

Next, I would remove the IAC again and inspect where it connects to the vehicle, Check if there is any carbon build up or anything that could block the air flow.

Let me know what you find.
